Our Mullen Advantage Club offers 2 visits annually & involves tasks including:

  • Visually inspecting the system
  • Running a diagnostic test
  • Cleaning the interior and exterior components
  • Changing the filter
  • Checking refrigerant levels
  • Inspecting all the wiring
  • Testing airflow at the vents
  • Inspecting return vents for any blockages

Benefits of AC Maintenance

Having our professionals maintain your air conditioning system pays dividends in multiple ways.

Your air conditioner should operate more efficiently after we perform a tune up, which saves money on energy usage. You should also notice more consistent temperatures from a well-maintained AC unit, giving you the level of comfort you want.

During our inspection, our AC technicians may notice parts that are wearing out or operating inefficiently. Such parts can put stress on the entire air conditioning system, leading to unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs. We can often perform small repairs during our maintenance inspection that reduce the need for bigger ones later.

Over the long run, performing maintenance should keep your air conditioner operating efficiently. You might be able to put off replacing the AC system for a few years or longer when you have us do maintenance work for you.

Air Conditioning Repair Is Our Specialty

When your air conditioning system is not running as expected or suffers a breakdown that leaves you sweating, we can help. Our expert AC repair technicians have all the licenses and certifications required to work on any brand and model of AC unit. Some AC manufacturers require certified technicians to perform repairs to maintain the warranty on the unit.

Some of the problems we can fix include:

  • Unit that won’t turn on
  • Air conditioner that can’t maintain the desired temperature
  • Short-cycling where the AC turns on and off repeatedly
  • Constantly tripped breaker in the electrical panel
  • Cracks in the hardware
  • Unit making odd noises
  • Damage to the outdoor unit
  • Lack of refrigerant pressure
  • Wiring shorts inside the air conditioner
  • Dirty condenser coils or filters

We take the time to properly diagnose the problem with your air conditioning unit. Rather than simply fixing the first issue we notice and leaving, we look for the actual source. By using this technique, our AC repair professionals can provide the best possible result for you.

We offer a guarantee on all our repair and installation work. We are not satisfied with the results until you are.

Air Conditioning FAQs

Why is my air conditioner not cooling like it should?

Customer: “Hey, my AC’s running, but it doesn’t feel like it’s cooling the house. What could be going on?”

Mullen Tech: “Yeah, that’s a pretty common issue, especially this time of year. It could be a few things. First, have you checked your air filter recently? If it’s dirty, it can really block the airflow. Another thing could be your refrigerant levels—if you’ve got a leak or it’s low, the system can’t cool properly. I’ve also seen outdoor condenser coils get clogged up with leaves or dirt, which can stop the AC from releasing heat like it’s supposed to. Let’s Schedule an Appointment for me take a look for you—I’ll figure out what’s going on and get you comfortable again.”

How often do I really need to get my AC serviced?

Customer: “So, do I really need to have my air conditioner serviced every year? It seems to be working fine.”

Mullen Tech: “I totally get it—it feels like if it’s working, why mess with it, right? But here’s the thing: getting it checked once a year, ideally in the spring, can save you a lot of headaches down the line. When we service it, we clean out the coils, check refrigerant levels, and make sure everything’s running smoothly. A lot of the time, little problems we catch during maintenance can turn into big, expensive repairs later if they’re ignored. Plus, a clean system runs way more efficiently, so you’ll save on energy bills too. It’s just like a car—you wouldn’t skip oil changes, and your AC’s the same way!”

How do I know what size air conditioner I need for my house?

Customer: “We’re thinking about getting a new AC, but I have no idea how to figure out what size we need. How does that work?”

Mullen Tech: “That’s a great question. A lot of people think bigger is better when it comes to ACs, but that’s not really the case. If the unit’s too big, it’ll cool the house too quickly and won’t remove the humidity like it should—plus, it’ll cycle on and off constantly, which wears it out. Too small, and it’ll run nonstop trying to keep up. Once you contact us by scheduling online or calling us at (304) 744-3221, we will come out and measure the square footage of your home, check your insulation, look at the windows, and even factor in the local weather here in South Charleston. All that gives us what’s called a ‘load calculation,’ and that helps us pick the perfect size for your house. I’ll walk you through it so we can find the right fit and make sure you’re cool and comfortable.”
